Due to a 60% scheduled release all weekend from the Tuxedo Hydro Station, we are going to have to reschedule the 3Rd Annual Upper Green Race to Saturday, 10/24/09. Frank, one of the dam operators, is on vacation this weekend and this only leaves Robbie to run two dams the next 2 days. To deal with the lack on man power, Duke Energy is going to turn Tuxedo on @ 60% release level all weekend.
I have confirmed this reschedule date with Green River Adventures (post race party venue & sponsor), Rapid Transit Video(event video coverage), & Cheryl Killman (event photographer), so everything will go down the same as promoted. Sara Bell, of GRA, is going to work her magic with Duke Energy next week to ensure a 100% release for us during the event date.
If you are a racer who has already registered on-line for this event you don’t need to do anything, unless you will not be able to attend the rescheduled event date. Please send me an e-mail to wesley@worldkayak.com to let me know that you will be unable to attend, so I can take you off the race line up.
Sorry for the hassle, but you know how it is with the Green… It’s like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get and “operational schedules are determined daily”.
