World Kayak is in the mode of learning from the experience of others in efforts to identify the front lines of this sport’s growth.  To effectively review the state of our industry, we are inviting all whitewater paddlers to participate in a new Survey Monkey survey for paddlers.  This survey asks very generic questions on your early and current life as a paddler.  It focuses on your learning path, your community and other similar issues.  The questions are geared towards finding trends in how you all became kayakers in the first place and where you are now.  It also is asking serious questions about the effectiveness of measuring industry growth through new boat buying statistics.

WK has recently posted up a kayak school survey and it has successfully captured data on 80% of it’s invitees.  These results will be shared publicly after the 2009 Whitewater Symposium in October.
