TVF Team SKB (Sexy Kayaking Beasts) had an awesome Saturday on Wilson Creek (2-23-08). The flow was definitely in the ELF (Extremely Low Flow) range, but the weather was beautiful with blue bird skies and mild temps! The level started off in the -8ish range and by the end of the day it had dropped to -9 on the gauge. We all [Stuart, Scott ("Chief" - Because he swam though that Rapid on the Green river a couple of weekends ago), Matt ("Stickless" - Because he can't drive a manual transmission), Brian ("El Capition" - Our Fearless Leader), Steve ("Hollywood" - Because he is a celebrity kayaker and hangs out with HeeHaw Jones a lot), and I ("EJ Jr." or "Jr." for short - This should be obvious if you know me...)] met up at the take out around 8:30ish a.m. and headed to the put-in to begin our long day. We worked out a great shuttle system that allowed us not to loose much time at all, after each team finished their lap.
In the first five laps we bombed down the creek in teams of three. Stuart (No nickname yet), El Capititon, & Stickless were one team and Hollywood, Chief, & I (Jr.) were the second team. On Lap #6 we decided to start breaking into teams of two. This allowed us to rest a little longer in between laps. By the end of the day we had completed 14 laps by 6:15 p.m. This gave us a total of 3,388 TVF for the day, which put us in first place of the rankings. Way to go SKB!

Not much carnage to report except a few roll overs in some pools at the bottom of Razorback and the last ledge rapid (Which resulted in one swim). Brian also did get pined in the mank above 10′ falls after trying to avoid Matt being broached, but everything turned out OK in this situation.
Overall the day was great, despite the ELF level. Our boats came away with a lot more scraps and sctratches, but no major damage.
Wilson Creek is now a sexier place since it has been graced by Team SKB… Peace out!
