I know a picture is worth a 1,000 words, but I am going to have to do a little explaining on this one…
I have often saw the column about “How far can you take the Star?” in our local paper – The Elizabethton Star. The column is for a photo of persons that has traveled somewhere outside of the region and had their picture taken holding the star. I have wanted to submit something to it for about a year now.
During my kayaking trip to San Luis Potosi, Mexico, I took a copy of the Star to get a picture of me with the paper while kayaking! Needless to say after you see the photo, the shot turned out great! The caption is me holding the newspaper in my right hand as I am dropping over a 20’ waterfall in a kayak. And no, I did not run the 70’ waterfall in the background… I am not that crazy! The pool in between these two drops is the put-in for the “Cascadas Micos”, which is on the “Rio Valles” river inSan Luis Potosi, Mexico. This stretch of river is super fun to say the least…
