Aberystwyth is a cute seaside town in picturesque west Wales. Its rare that I head that far west in my own country. I should take more advantage of the fantastic playground on my back doorstep. I headed to Borth, just north of Aberystwyth for a Welsh ranking competition organised by Kim and Alan. Unfortunately the surf gods were fresh out of 5 ft and clean surf and instead we were met with cross-shore wind of 25 mph, and small surf. Alan headed back into town to recce of the trap (at the harbor) which looked marginally better. The Owens decided to scrap the comp and Alan, Si and I headed out. Was a fun sesh and i can definitely see how the trap could be nice on a good day.

Waves at the trap smash straight into the Harbor wall, so its important to know how to exit a wave before you get smashed- proabably not a good beginners spot.
