Be careful when shopping for Kayak insurance. One firm that comes up at or near the top of a Google search result requires you fill out a detailed application for online quote, yet neither the license number posted, nor the name, exists on the California insurance commission online license search database. You don’t know who you are handing detailed information (boat value, serial number, address, where and how stored/secured, etc. ) to without checking them out. Tomorrow I am calling the insurance board to double check, or alert them to this alleged insurance agent’s website.

I recently insured my Eddyline fathom thru state farm, they are covering not only the $2700 boat, but my $450 werner carbon paddle aswell, against theft, fire, on water loss, and any breakage either from a top of garage fall to floor moving from storage, or a flight off the top of the car. The price was VERY reasonable at a whopping $44 a year (or $3.66 billed monthly) for $3500 worth of coverage.
