About “Kayak for a Cause”

“Kayak for a Cause”

My name is Nicholas Troutman, I am a world champion kayaker. After winning my first world championships I had reached my goal and now needed something more, a new focus.

For 2012 I have set a new goal which is to give back, I will be donating all of my winnings (prize money) from the 2012 season to various non profits. I will be donating the sum at the end of the year to help out with Soft Power Health, American Whitewater, and First Descents.

- Soft Power Health is a non-profit based in Uganda, Africa. It has a focus on bringing health and knowledge to the locals on the river banks of the mighty White Nile River.

- American Whitewater is a non-profit focused on saving rivers around the United States. They have removed more dams, have created more river access, and brought more scheduled flows than any other organization in America.

- First Descents in a non-profit taking youth with cancer and introducing them to kayaking and the wilderness.

    Hi Nick,

I’d like to discuss NPO fundraising with you. I’m excited by your 2012 goal of giving back. Are you in Canada? What would be the best way to reach you?

Looking forward to speaking with you,
    Angela Stone-Butterworth
