48 Paddlers from accross the country turned up at the Canoe Meadows Campground to register and make their bid for a position on the Canadian Freestyle Team.

Missoula, MT – The future of freestyle kayaking looks bright if results from the US National Freestyle Kayak Team Trials are an indicator. Kayaking’s version of the ratpack, teens Jason Craig, Dane Jackson begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting, Jordan Poffenberger and Lauren Burress all turned in impressive performances as they battled in various divisions for the chance to represent the US at World Championships in Germany next summer.

Crowds surge, stakes rise as US Freestyle Kayak Team trials moves toward finals
Missoula, MT – It was a day of high anxiety as competitors battled on Brennan’s Wave on the Clark Fork River to try to make the final rounds of the US National Freestyle Kayak Team Trials. At the end of the day, a total of 21 men, women and juniors will earn the right to represent the United States at the International Canoe Federation Freestyle Kayak World Championships in Platting, Germany next summer.

This summer World Kayak will be in Missoula, MT as this fun town plays host to the 2010 USA Freestyle Kayaking Team Trials. Our coverage will be via an online stream hooked directly to the event’s MC and include interviews from the field and as much footage as we can get.

A few surprises occurred in the US Team Trials Semi and Finals today. Competition kicked off once again at 9:00 AM promptly, highly unlike kayakers. The top 5 men, top 3 women, top 3 jr men, top 2 jr women, top 2 OC-1 were decided through an amazingly close competition and included some major upsets as well.

I just checked Boatertalk and I believe the lack of comments deems it a success, The one comment of the nice video was very nice as well. We kicked of the official launch of World Kayak TV today during the preliminary round of the US Team Trials.
