Germans win the big trick contest.

After the SUP event yesterday there was a big trick contest and all sorts of crazy fun.  The winning trip was from a team of Germans that managed to tie three Rockstars together and throw a big loop.  The best part was that the center boat was back wards for the full trick.  Here is a video thanks to Lee Hart.

Womens quarters, and Mother Nature’s power!

Last evening Mother Nature showed us who is boss!  As were waiting for the final heat of the women’s quarter finals a wall of clouds descended upon us and decided to tear up the event site.  A massive tent (15ft*40ft) was lifted off the ground, inverted, and then snapped in half over a pretzel stand.  Everyone jumped into action and grabbed a hold of it, until we could break it down into pieces so it would not end up in the river like the Pyranah easy up tent.  As we …

Idaho Throwdown #2

Yesterday was this seasons opening day for Kelly’s Whitewater park and the second Throwdown for Idaho. The weather forecast was bleak with snow expected for the day, however we arrived in cascade with sunny skies and a temp of 36 degrees.

We began the day at 8:30 with a fantastic KWP opening-day breakfast of pancakes with awesome berries and sausage – what a way to start the day! Next we had a dedication of the bridge to rock island. It’s pretty incredible to watch …

Reno River Festival Boatercross and Awards photos!

Sunday, brought the crowd friendly event of boatercross.  4 boaters racing head to head working as hard as they can to advance to the next round.  How can we make that a bit more rough and exciting for the crowd?  That’s right, you put a mandatory upstream gate in the course!  Not only do all the boaters have to go through it traveling upstream, but if any one is behind it gives them a chance to get back in the mix and to “interact” with the other racers.  I must …
