SUP cross and a down day.

24 June 2011 No Comment

worlds sup 001Today was a down day in Plattling, kind of.  There was open water time for everyone.  You could watch all of the finalist getting ready for tomorrow, as well as seeing tons of other competitors taking long fun rides and just working on evolving the sport.  This afternoon there was a SUPcross race.  Mike Tavers and Dane Jackson were dominating all of the prelim rounds.  Dane and EJ were competing against each other in each of the first rounds, and they also both made it to finals.  As the competitors made their way around the bridge and towards the hole Dane was in first followed by EJ and then Mike.  As they passed through the wave they had to round a buoy in the eddy and then make the long ferry across the wave back to River left.  EJ had been making the tightest turns around the buoy all day, but Dane got out in front and then there was a bit or rubbing going on and Mike ended up in second place.  It was super fun to watch.  Finals are tomorrow, so we are all hoping to get a bunch of sleep!
