Mens prelims.

21 June 2011 No Comment

worlds2.0 004The men got the day started off right at 7am today with a bang.  The kayaking in the first three heats was amazing with some favorites like Stephen Wright lighting it up with big scores in the 1600 range.  All the big moves were being thrown in both directions with a ton of amplitude, finesse, and speed.  Despite the early hour the Irish team did not disappoint on the spectator end of things.  They are some of the most fun fans to watch got absolutely nuts when any of their countrymen are boating; however, they may have been bested this morning by one polish fan.  I am fairly certain that he had an IV of red bull along with some sugar cubes for breakfast.  He never let up on his air horn and every time he came running around again he had more body paint on!  As the morning continues we have 16 heats of men to work trough before we start in to the juniors and OC-1.  There are some concerns regarding more rain and possible floods, so the event organizers are moving the events pace up just a bit to ensure that everyone gets to compete at a typical level.  This is not a certain thing, but we have to give a big shout the organizers for doing a great job and working around what mother nature is throwing at us!  I will try to get a few posts up today as the men’s prelims continue on, and I will get the rest of this mornings photos processed and added shortly.
