We had a great day for the 4th Hometown Throwdown of the 2010 season: sunny and cool with beautiful fall colors. The water level was a bit challenging again as it was not as retentive as we would like and the rides were short. Eighteen competitors and numerous families and friends showed up. We were also missing the women: where were all the girls?

The results of the Men’s K1A and K1B classes:

K1A:

#1 Bob North proved that the Alpha Dogs still have what it takes with 167 points and the longest rides of anyone in the competition.

#2  Kyle Kinney tearing up the hole with  146 points

#3 Jamie Levine with his vertical moves and loops for 121 points

#4 Jano Jusuz showing us his cartwheels for points

#5 Dave Milrod in his Dragorossi with 93 points

#6 Nick Havrilak close behind with 83 points

#7 Grink in his creek boat doing vertical moves for 58 points

#8 Pete Ravikovitch looking calm and relaxed for 48 points

#9 Jeremy Newman was edged out by only one point at 47 points

#10 Glenn Stanley doing his best in a squirt boat for 28 points. He gets my vote for the prettiest boat with his metallic red and purple squirt boat.

K1B

#1 Todd Zielinski 10 points

#2 Lou Zaniroli 8 points

#3 Frank Landis 6 points

#4 Jay Seilor 5 points

#5 JC Kinney and John Mellor tied at 4 points. JC competed in the Men’s Class as he was the only Junior this time.

#6 Ed Rohrbach 3 points

#7 Marion Ambros 1 point

Thanks to all the family and friends who came out to cheer for our competitors, and Bob and the judges for the scoring. Thanks to many of you for the food and beer afterwards, and to World Kayak for the prizes. See the slideshow for pictures of all the competitors and their best moves.

See you next time!
