Missoula Hometown Throwdown #1

Last Thursday was the 1st out of 4 Throwdowns, during the month of July in Missoula Montana. This event was off the hook once again in 08’. Water levels were insanely good for July. The wave was in prime shape for throwing every trick imaginable. The turn out was great in both athlete and spectator categories. Red Bull, Zootown Surfers and Edge of the World paddle shop were representing in full force.
In the Jr. category we had a great comp with local grom Jack placing 3rd, World Kayak Academy student Sam in 2nd, and Frank “the Tank” taking 1st place. In the Women’s division we only had two athletes for the first event. In 2nd place was local hero Chyanne Rogers and taking top prize was NRS team paddler Erin. The men’s group was made up of 8 skilled athletes. In 3rd place was last years overall champ Ben Neilson. In second place was a new comer Drew Klasen. In first place was last years runner-up and soon to be World Class Kayak academy freestyle coach Shawn Byron.
I just want to give a big thanks to everyone who helped out with another super successful event. We have 3 more to go! The final event will be July 31st and we will be giving away a Jackson Kayak to the overall point leader –Just like last year –go get some of that! Thanks “the Mouth of Missoula -KB”
