Final Touches - Colorado Here I Come
By Christopher Wing • May 30th, 2008 • Category: Festival Coverage, WK Pro Event CoverageI have been training up as much as I can, with my sicko moves as well as my grammar and video and photo skills to prepare for this trip. Many people have come out of the woodwork to support my endeavor and I feel that I can not let them down, no wait, there is not a snow balls chance in h.e. double hockey sticks that I will. I feel very confident in my kayak skills (imagine Napoleon Dynamite voice), my writing skills, and my computer skills that will help me along in this endeavor. So here we go!
My game plan is simple at the moment. I finish work in Charlotte, NC Sunday night and begin my drive that night. I plan to make it as far as my sagging eyes will let me and continue the journey through the tornado stricken plain states the next day, hopefully minus any scenes from the movie “Twister.” I plan to arrive in Vail, CO sometime tuesday allowing me some time for rest, coverage prep, and some well deserved play time. I am entirely way too excited and that should shine through in my writing during my first visit to Colorado. I will be covering the Homestake Creek Race on Thursday and then covering and competing in the Downriver Race and Qualifier Rodeo on Friday. I am pretty sure that I will get the nitty gritty day and night for all of you readers out there… I like to think that I have my finger on the pulse.
Keep your eyes peeled as there will be sure to be some sneaky tricks up the sleeve in the coming weeks. Signing out for now from the Queen City.
