Here is some beta and I’ll fix it up soon. April 12/13/2008. Salmon high level pievce of cake class 2 and 3. Also Lower black. High High level.. easy until going under bridge, that set is fine, next set BIG river wide munchy hole just after a benfd to the right. Really glad we scouted. Next, medium falls, puch the reactionary river left above it and enjoy. Lastly, the canyon….. Huge munchy hole we walked. (too tired)

After spending a solid number of days on the water this year (which would pale in comparison to many who read this) I am still hooked but even more so, recharged. I pushed my limits, scared my self a bit and tried some new boats. I have a boat I want, as well as gear… but where do I go from here? Do I buy the boat and gear? Or do I by a boat and gear for my wife. I could give her my old stuff or rent a boat ect.. until she knows the boat she wants…

I think the next step is just to get her into it. I guess I need to offer to look after the girls while she trys it. Any advice on convincing a reluctant paddler to get into it?

As we grow older we run the risk of reaching a plateau and growing tired. I may have reached that point. Watching the young paddlers rip it up is impressive. I recognize that I can’t keep up and won’t try to. What I do want to do is 2 things. See alot more of Canada’s rivers and those of the USA. Specifically New England. Secondly, I want to introduce my family to the sport. My wife has tried it and will again. I have 2 little girls (3 and 1) and I want to get them interested as they grow.

My goal is to get advice as how to get my family into it and to get input as to where to find nice class 3 rivers that offer more than a hardcore paddle, but and enjoyable camping experience as well. Info I am after is rive Beta, directions, accomodation info and other activites in the area as well as build a network of likeminded paddlers to hang out with. Any advice???
