First Reno HTTD of 2017

Last Wed evening saw a great crew come out to compete in a slalom type race on the south channel of the Reno White Water Park.  5 months into the 2017 water year and we have already broken the record for most precipitation since records have been kept.  For example, last year we had about 500 cfs for our first throwdown, on Wed it was 5,000 cfs and has been for over a month

2017 HTTD Season kicks off April 26th

It’s that time again… Hometown Throwdown Season This year we have already had more precipitation than any other year in recorded history in the Northern Sierra so flows will be high throughout the summer.  With that in mind we are going to go a bit longer this year and hold events through June.  So grab your friends, dust off the paddling gear, and meet us in two weeks to kick things off.  HTTD will start at 5-530pm on Wednesdays every two weeks. April 26 th –  Reno Whitewater Park  –  Slalom Survivor Race May 10 th — TBD May 24 th — TBD June 7 th — TBD June 21 st — TBD Because flows will be changing a lot this season, we will be adjusting the event type and location as we go. So check back in for information on the next event.  As always Colin has worked to get great sponsors for World Kayak in 2017, this year we already have lots of great gear from: Jackson Kayak Mountain Khakis Ninkasi Accent Paddles IR Kokatat Effort Inc
