Our event on Springcreek at the Muddy Rivers Festival was awesome this year! We had people from all over the world attend this years event. We had paddling greats like Emily Jackson, Pat Keller, Steve Fisher, just to name a few. It was a pleasure to boat with so many wonderful people! Now the new 2015-2016 begins! We will be back at the Boils this July.

Hometown Throwdown May 8-9

To kick off the 2015 Columbus, GA Whitewater Season, Uptown Columbus is hosting RiverFest Weekend May 8-9. The entire community is invited to participate in weekend-long events in Woodruff Park and along the RiverWalk in Uptown Columbus Friday, May 8th from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Northwest College in Cody

This weekend with temperatures in the 60′s , Northwest Community College made their way over to the Shoshone.

2015 Hometown Throwdown Events Wednesdays 4-22, 4-29, 5-6 Sign Waivers 5 pm, Races start at 5:30 pm, Beer and Swag after Locations 4/22  Timed Races, Floriston Rapids, off I-80 Floriston Exit 4/29  Timed Races, Floriston Rapids, off I-80 Floriston Exit 5/06  Slalom Surviver or Boatercross, Reno Whitewater Park NOTE: The River Festival is still happening on 5/9-10, should the water be below 300 cfs the freestyle competition will be replaced with races on Sat  in addition to the normal Sun races.  There will be no slalom this year

Bend Whitewater Park is nearly finished

Bend Paddle Trail Alliance Water is flowing in the Whitewater Channel! Hamilton Construction crews seal the bottom of the pool below Eddie’s wave and are prepping to build the safe passage drops. The waves should be open before summer’s end, so plan on visiting us in sunny Bend, Oregon September 19th for the kickoff party.

HTTD #1 2015- Slocan Boatercross

Racers trying to grab top spot The first event of the 2015 World Kayak Hometown Throwdown series took place on the Mighty Slocan River at Initiation wave at Crescent Valley beach.  Competitors came out to race despite the numerous kayaking options this spring due to a early melt and above normal seasonal levels. Heats of 4 or 5 paddlers decided the make up of the finals with paddlers facing off in a gruelling battle around a gate and across river to the finish line.

April Update

Lots of things happening here in the Pacific Northwest. This weekend the Northwest Creeking Competition is firing up (April 11th and 12th) at Sunset Falls in Yacolt, WA.
