Message in a bottle

During yesterday’s Throwdown as we were warming up two of our Jr competitors found 2 bottles with a letter in each. Turns out there were two girls that were camping upstream. In today’s age of technology I was quite surprised to see that some kids would think of that including a mailing address to write back not a email address.

Team River Runner Sparks Whitewater Kayaking Interest Across the State

This past weekend I was again fortunate to help Craig Esposito with the TEam River Runner whitewater kayaking event at Wausau Whitewater Park.  Craig helped found the first wisconsin TRR Chapter a few years ago and this was the 2nd year we held a weekend event for the injured vets and their families. We had many returners who have significantly improved their paddling skills as well as new vets and families with a great interest to continue in the sport. Fred is just one of the handful of vets who has been pushing himself to excel at whitewater kayaking.

KWP Fun Run Week 5 – They TELL me it was a great night….

2014 Steelhead Falls Huck-Fest

We had a great time at Steelhead Falls hucking for points and cheers.  The temperature dropped a little, which was good, and we had little smoke from the wildfires.  No injuries to report even though Jake almost got crushed by an negligent jumper.  The after party was a pleasure thanks to the sponsors and everyone had a great time.

HTTD #5 drawss 21 freestyle kayakers

With great prizes from Astral, Mountain Khakis, Ninkas Brewing Co., Shred Ready and so many more of our sponsors, the HTTD last weekend drew a great crowd! cartwheels, loops, splittwheels, and some pushing our comp to a new level attempting mcnastys and orbits, the locals had a great show. Plus, new paddlers from rapids riders annual Canoe U classes brought some new paddlers to the competition. Brian and Cassie entered their first ever freestyle competition in their Fluid Kayaks.
