Chasing Paddles, Boats and Throwing Ropes This is what we encountered  while at the Nantahala Open, this weekend.  With many people challenging the Cascades and the upper section of this river, there was a huge amount of fun going on and a lot of carnage.  When I woke up Monday morning to look at my Facebook, all I could see was, “found paddle” and “look at my boat after running the cascades”.   With all of this happening there was so much fun going on at the same time. At the falls, there was a competition just for crazy things done on Lesser Wesser aka Nantahala Falls

Lane McClure shredding, HTTD event # 3 – 2013 The HTTD event series is designed to provide local boaters an opportunity to compete with friends and meet new ones in a no stress environment.  Although points and prizes are awarded, the intent of the event series is to educate participants, and audiences on things like trick type, competition format, and provide an opportunity for our community of kayakers to promote the sport.

The 19 th of April 2014 saw the 2 nd ever North Esk River Race. 36 paddlers took to the water in 3 classes; Intermediate, Advanced and, for those who dared Ironman. In each class there could only be two winners, one male and one female
