Fall Dam Releases Have Started

Over the last couple of weeks Zoo Wave has been in on the Upper Spokane as Avista increased flows to draw down Lake Couer d’Alene. With any luck Avista will increase flows again soon, bringing in Sullivan Hole. Some local boaters are heading north to run the Kootenai River in Montana, or across the border for some surf on the Columbia River in Trail, B.C

Whitewater Park Closure for In-stream Improvements

Durango WW Park upgrade for 2014 The City of Durango has officially closed the Smelter whitewater park as of October 25th to begin construction on the rivers in stream features and improvements for the 2014 season and there will be no paddling through the Whitewater Park during construction. We are going to steal an east coast tradition, the Head Hunt, which involves chasing floating heads down the river.  The heads have numbers that correspond to prizes given out at the party after.
