troy6 (Large)Hello everyone. Our third WK Hometown Throwdown for the year is next Saturday (6/25) at Kelly’s Whitewater Park in Cascade – 11AM.  We are planning on a 2-ride freestyle on the wave and boatercross heats at the end! The new bridge KWP put in makes boatercross a great addition to our events :-) More info on KWP at http://kwpid.com . Make sure you check out their Park Cam.

If you haven’t been up to KWP it is worth the drive and the scenery while you are surfing is incredible.

Our TD  schedule for season looks like this:
6/25/2011 – KWP 11:00am
8/13/2011 – KWP 11:00am
9/3/2011 – KWP 11:00am

Our Hometown Throwdowns are FREE, fun, easy to run and low stress events set up to encourage both community activity (playing together) and skills development.   Prizes are raffled off so that the competitive angst and walls are taken down… and the only thing left is friendly competition and skills development.  Event formats include our freestyle throwdown and boater-cross.

Throwdowns break paddlers up into age and skill divisions, so anyone can participate!

Check it out – new event, and it sounds like a blast :  The Boise Whitewater Festival. July 16, 17

Please join us in ushering in the inaugural Boise Whitewater Festival. The event is designed to showcase some of the great opportunities that Boise offers the whitewater community. This years events will include a 6 mile time trial down the Boise River for rafts, kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards. At the finish line we will party in Ann Morrison Park with bands and the Payette Brewery Beer Garden. On Sunday, July 17th there will be a class IV boater cross on the Payette River with head to head action for kayaks, canoes and rafts. This will be the premier event of the United States Boater Cross Association.  CHECK OUT MORE INFO –> HERE!

The event is also looking for a bit of help on safety for the Saturday and Sunday events.  Contact  info@paddleboise.com and find out how you can help. Likely you can both participate in an event and help with safety.
