Boise Hometown Throwdown for June Moved – Too Much Water!

2009
06.06

Hey everyone – We have decided to postpone the June Throwdown and move it to another date. We have so much water that the gutter is full and has no good waves, Most of this weekend there was even too much water for the bladder wave – it just glassed out. And when it is in it may only be in for a short time and then change again.

In Boise the 36th street wave is pushing to the far side of the river and many would miss the must-make eddy on the near side and end up washing down stream where the river is flowing through the brush/trees with no eddies. I checked it out today and right now the hole is pretty trashy.

I’ll talk to everyone at the next TD and find what works best, I imagine that we will add it in the first or second week of September – But I’ll leave that up to the participants :-)

Thanks and see you at the Kickoff meeting for the Boise River Park on Thursday!

Boise Hometown Throwdown and Jackson Demo’s Wednesday June 10th

[singlepic=83,320,240,,left]Our next Throwdown is Wednesday, June 10th at the Gutter. We have moved the date in order to accommodate the kickoff for the Boise River Recreation Park that was scheduled on the 11th.

So we will meet Wednesday for this month at 5:30 for registration and hit the wave at 6pm. I’ll bring my grill, so bring you favorite grill food for after the event if you would like to stick around and enjoy the warm evenings that are here! As usual we will draw for prizes after the event.

We are teaming up with Alpenglow Mountainsport in order to add Jackson Kayak Demo-Daze to the mix. Alpenglow will provide a slew of boats for you to test out during the evening.

If possible, please register for the event online at http://worldkayakblogs.com/throwdown/register/ (then click on the link for Boise Throwdown #3). If you have ANY problems creating a login, registering, etc – let me know. I can fix you up pretty fast.

Also – don’t forget the PBR this Friday!
