Both We And The Elk Are Waiting For Spring!

As the snow keeps coming here in Idaho, skiers and snowmachiners are having a great season. This, of course, bodes well for boaters this spring and summer.

So as we wait for spring to arrive the elk have been camped out on a hill above the house for the last couple of weeks. They spend the day on top of the hill and then come down at night and pilfer hay from all of the ranchers down in the valley. Luckily our lab ‘Sprocket’ sleeps in our hay and keeps them away :-)

Payette SF Vid From ’06

It’s January again and that reminded me of a video I shot a couple of years ago on a chilly January day on the Payette South Fork Staircase run. The river had been iced up until the weekend before, but a ‘warm’ spell had opened up this section.

On Track For The Bladder Wave This Year? Maybe!!

Slow water between rapids means ice dams on the Payette this time of year – This one is just above Climax Wave.

Mark Cecchini sent a link to us that shows we are on track for a great water summer :-) Check it out HERE!

This could be the spring to hit the Bladder Wave :-)

Roll Sessions Kicking Off Again In Boise

The Downtown YMCA was the place to be last night. We had almost 20 kids at the Idaho River Kids roll session and about 15 people at the following adult roll class.

To get in on all the fun go HERE to check the schedule of sessions that take place at the Boise DownTown YMCA, West YMCA and Rocky Mountain Fitness.
