Stay Tuned

July 20, 2009

Hello Everyone!
I hope you all enjoy the recently added photos, we hope to publish more videos and photos within the next week. The Keeners are really taking an interest in Photo/Video and presenting some super creative ideas to Sam and I. We plan on putting all these great ideas to use and filming as much as possible for this groups final week. We had our farewell speech night tonight at Wilderness Tours where all the Keeners that will be leaving explained what they enjoyed most about the program, what they learned, which (if not all) goals were achieved, what they would like to see change about the program (which wasn’t much at all :) ), and finally their “thank you” to Joe, the instructors, fellow Keeners, Sam, and myself. The Keeners will be posting blogs, photos, and hopefully videos tomorrow night. Stay tuned to what they have to say for their last blog here at Keenerville.
Until tomorrow night…thank you.
Jacqueline – Keener Mom

Start of week 3

July 20, 2009

I am now in to my third week of six as a keener. The level has finaly droped enough and baby face is starting to come in which is something i look forward to paddling when the feature is at its prime. Today i was refineing by blunting skills with billy harris, we spent along time on a really small wave called push button. This enabled me to really improve my edge transfer and technique, there fore improving my larger wave paddling. I want to nail my pan ams and take my donkey flips more airbourne into air screws by the end of the week. I look forward to more fun times with my keeners and coaches.

keeners is coming to a close

July 20, 2009

Hey this is Jacob from keenerville. Unfortunately I only have one week left with the keener program, but my stay so far has been awesome. Keeners now feels like my home away from home. Everybody is getting to know each other very well. This last week has been a blast, unfortunately we had to say good bye to Craig since his stay was up with keeners. Last night after dinner at WT we came back and hit the river for some layed back evening paddling. Baby face is on it’s way in and everyone is crossing their fingers for Garb. I am hoping for garb to come in so I can work on my air blunts and whatever else I am able to do. I am really looking forward to the week ahead of me. We have a new set of instructors and hopefully I can make my last week at keeners the best one yet. In less then a week I will be back home and off this beautiful, world class river. I will definitely be sad when that day comes.

Talk to you later
Jacob
