Week 3 Of Keeners

July 1, 2009

Hey everybody, this is 80’s Craig reporting, telling you guys the down low here at Keenerville. So far this week has been awesome, with Nick Troutman and Stephen Wright coaching the keeners, and under their tutalage we have learned and done a lot in the last three days. We’ve spent the first two days to surf at MCcoy’s Chute and down the main channel. Today, our race was at the Lorne, of which Jamie got first place, and Jeremy, James (a.k.a. Nighthawk), and myself got second. This week was a blast, and I plan to learn a lot.

Keeners – Week 3

July 1, 2009

It has been a great start to my third and final week at keeners. The water levels have dropped since last week and there is lots of play at McCoys Rapid – corner wave, babyface, Horseshoe… I have started to learn how to helix these past couple days and I’ve been pretty close so thats cool. We had a timed race this week down the death slot which was fun. Yesterday night we went to town to see Year 1 which was a good switch up.

Happy Canada Day
Jeremy

July 1, 2009

Hey Liam here we had a down river race today. It was the first race I have been in keeners it was really fun my first time trial I was tied for first with miles. But we did the best out of two so I diden’t do very good the second time. This is my last week here so I am sad that I am leaving but I will be kayaking back home so its all good.

my first 4 days

July 1, 2009

well to be honest this is the best program in the world , with world class coaching , in learning so much. The water is so diffrent to my rivers in britian back home are nothing campared to thhe ottawa so this alone will help my boating , there are such varity on the water with punching big kahuna or surfing baby face the ottawa has so much more to offer. The next few weeks ,as far as i can see , is going to be a blast .

Movie night

July 1, 2009

To the untrained eye keener looks like a wheole bunch of days spent on the water learning free style kayak tricks, but we do have interest out side of keeners and that is why everybody here came up with the awesome idea of movie night. We picked a night to go to a movie theater (and pick up some cheap chinesse food), it was a very nice to see that there is life out side of air blunts and flat water loops, and everybody enjoyed themselves. The movie we saw was Year 1, it was very funny.
Until next time,
Jamie
