Week 3 at KKS brought great all around kids! One great step to creating great paddlers is teaching them how to swim in the river. These students have the whitwater swim position down, can swim with their paddle, and don’t mind jumping in! Enjoy the photos!

Kelly’s Kayak School is in week three! We used the NRS Rascal IK for one student. He was not sure he wanted to be in a kayak but jumped at the chance to paddle and surf the IK. Check out these amazing shots of him running rapids and surfing at Kelly’s Whitewater Park.

The first week of Kelly’s Kayak School was amazing. We had a fantastic week with amazing Students. We had students working on swimming rapids, running them, and surfing. It was amazing to see students surfing on their fourth day in their kayaks! We even had students rolling! Great job everyone.

Freestyle Kayaking end of season-KWP

Dear Friends,

May, June and half of July has sped by but not without me. I had a fantastic time in CO. at the point series events claiming a 1st and a 3rd and 3rd at the Worlds in Germany in my Kelly’s Whitewater Park (KWP) squirt boat. I rushed home for the final freestyle event in the point series at my home, KWP, capturing 4 in the event and point series for the year. I would have loved to be top 3 but I paddled great and the event went super well!

Frosty, my hockey coach made me a sign to cheer me on! Jen, a local at KWP, helped with the art work! Thanks Jen. My Mom and Mike came out to cheer me on with many friends from Boise to Lewiston. They all said it was about time that we had a major event in Idaho!

Thank you all for your support. Without you my life would not be the same. If you have a chance this summer come to Cascade, Idaho to KWP. You can kayak, rent tubes from River Gear to float the river, or picnic and play with your

dog on the island with front row seats to watch the kayakers throw their moves.

Today is the end of the first week of Kelly’s Kayak School at KWP. We had students surfing the middle wave on their 4th day in kayaks! I am so proud of these kids!

Current Experiences Kayaking at KWP

Alex Templar teaches for Current Experiences, www.currentexperiences.com, and brought his students to KWP for three days. His students worked with Kelly’s Kayak School as our students were working on their roll. We had one on one instruction thanks to Current Experiences. I had a great time play boating with them after I finished with KKS.
