Scotian Chute Out #5 moves to Reversing Falls, New Brunswick

We’re taking water from the Americans! That’s right the water for the Throwdown number 5 is coming from Maine and we’re catching it at the Reversing Falls in Saint John, New Brunswick.  The water level is high so the Greasy Chicken and Cookie Monster waves that were seen on the Burning Time video will be working well in addition to the Broken Paddle hole. The competitors will can chose either the wave, the hole or both for thier rides

Harry Cox , the Legend, will be hosting the event with free tenting in his back yard in Hampton NB and actually be paddling in ‘his’ urban playground.  Rumours of an afterparty at Dan and Michelle’s place will be confirmed at the event, details with pictures to follow -Mark

Medway River is “Ideal”

Medway River continues to run free of ice and at it’s optimal play level of plus one on the Bangs Falls Bridge gauge. Several paddlers have been out braving the cold to prepare for the first of the Scotian Shoot Outs, the first of which will be on Saturday March 1!!! Since the water level is so good there will be lots of fun on the water with a choice of three great playspots so close to each other plus prizes and a nice warm barn next to the river to change and hang out in for spectators and paddlers.
