(more) Kayaking is for Seniors


Yesterday I read about Marjorie in Idaho who started kayaking when she was 52 (15 years ago!). Another woman who inspires me in kayaking is my mom, Mary Ann.

Mom is 64 and she is eager to get on the water after she tried out a 4Fun at an Adventure Summit in Dayton, OH. Now Mom is gradually accumulating her own gear and she’s looking forward to getting her own boat. She really liked the 4Fun, or she might want to try out one of the new Jackson Rec boats.

Now we just need to find some experienced people she can paddle with in southern WV. Probably on class I-II rivers at this point.

That’s Great! My mom was a little set back that I had just paddled with a lady only 3 years older than she is. :-) Good for your mom for trying something new!
