FIBark and the rest of the summer

I finally made it through the recovery of my shoulder injury around may with just enough time to get a little practice in before FIBark. It was amazing to get back on the water again after 9 months off and i was re-addicted. by the time colorado came around my shoulder was feeling alright but i still had to take some pain killers every once in a while for the pain. Aside from a little pain, Colorado was a whole lot of fun. We got to run a few different creeks like Oh Be Joyful and ten mile as well as doing some playboating before the competition. i met a lot of different people and had a great time competing even with two ugly ugly rides.

Once I got back from Colorado it was back to the normal work then green river work then green river schedule that i love. If anyone is going to be around the south east and wants to do some paddling just let me know. I love any excuse to get me on the river

Injured…

From kayaking over the summer I developed a bad case of tendonitus. At first they thought that I tore my lebrum and sent me in for an MRI but nothing turned out. According to my doctor 15 % of lebrum issues can’t turn up on MRIs so he told me to take it easy and I will probably be back in a few weeks. To test it out I through my lacrosse ball around and it felt fine until I woke up in the morning. I couldn’t move my arm and I was in alot of pain. We went back to the doctor and decided to go ahead and get the surgery. After waiting for six hours in preop I woke up to be informed that when they went in with the scope they found the tendon connecting my bicept to my shoulder to be so frayed that it was useless and they had to cut it, string it throught the lebrum, and then staple it to itsself. bad news is I won’t be back in a boat until April. Good News is that my progress in my range of motion is “increadable” and “unbelievable” according to the doctors, and that once I’m healed I will never have a problem with it again. The only problem now is that my left should is acting the exact same way…

I’ll keep anyone who cares posted on it.
