Buck Fever, the first video I ever made is now up on the Rapid Transit site. You may view it in its entirety at my Rapid Transit Library. Go here and click on my name and you’ll find it. If you are so inspired, buy the VHS for a whopping $3 at the effort.tv store. Shipping will cost more than the VHS… haha!

Two new Rapid Transit videos are up this past week, including Chris Gallaway’s Green River, Jerry’s Baddle Headcam (see it in his Library). Also, you can see my Southeastern Spring 2008 video (see on main page or my Library) with varied footage from Rapid Transit producers, Daniel Windham, Chris Gragtmans, Chris Gallaway and myself. As always, the podcast is the way to go for these videos. Just open your iTunes store and search for Rapid Transit, then click subscribe.

Some other news from Rapid Transit. We will be launching our first DVD in October, to be premiered at the Asheville Pizza Company on October 30th, which is a Thursday, at 9:30 pm to be precise. Details of the DVD content to follow…

I also added a couple pieces to my press/photo portfolio, of which some of the photos are of me and some are by me. I was on an ad for the Asheville Mt Sports festival this May in Blue Ridge Outdoors. This photo was from an attainment race that happened at the 2007 Mt Sports Fest. I badly beaten by all my friends in this race but it was still a really fun time. I’m really not sure who took the photo. There were no credits that I could find.

Then, I was in a really really small photo in a really really small catalog that H2o Audio put out this spring. Joey Hall took this shot. He is also featured in another small shot on the same page.

Wow. Big deal.

Aquabound Paddles of British Columbia, my longest standing sponsor (ten years), has run an ad in Kayak Session this summer featuring Joey Hall and myself. We use Aquabound all the time and were of course paddling with them in Morocco this past winter. Both photos were taken by our good friend and scoundrel, Nathan Eades. As the ad mentions, we were there shooting lots of photo and video for Joey’s upcoming Surf Kayak Film and Magazine, “Interference.” Check it out at http://InterferenceFilm.com

Also, Riot has begun to run advertisements in American Whitewater. “Think Big,” titles the ad, referring to our new line of larger boats. We (Riot) now have a Magnum 80 and Thunder 76 gallon to compliment the smaller Magnum 72 and Thunder 65 gallon. These boats are downright incredible and I don’t mind saying, the best kayaks I have ever paddled. This month the ad features Chris Gragtmans styling a nice line off of Caveman rapid on Raven Fork, North Carolina. The ad also shows a small inset video grab still of Chris running 80′ DeSoto Falls in Northern Alabama. Nice ad, I thought.

On Rapid Transit, Effort.tv’s sister site, young video producer Andy Gates has recently launched two new videos.

I was persuaded by several friends to use Wordpress as the foundation of my site since it’s so easy to manage. It really does rule. Anyway, here it is and I’m happy for it to be back up and running. I’m pretty sure I’ll be retiring the old blogger blog over at http://efforttv.blogspot.com/ I may have to make one last post over there to redirect everyone to here but I will definitely leave all that stuff online. There have been some fun thoughts and memories that I journaled there.

This facial hair looks totally horrible and is only a result of my lack of enthusiasm for shaving. Really it just makes me look dirty, which I am I guess. I kind of thought I’d grow it out in celebration of the Mustache contest that started a couple days ago but I need to just shave this mess.

2) I did indeed attend the 4th annual NAWF at Short Creek and the Locust Fork in Alabama, followed by an incredible trip down the Little River Canyon. The video event coverage is a little late but it’s here nonetheless, featuring tons of happy paddlers.
