The Girls of CReW have decided to start their own kayaking centric blog!

Here we hope to express the opinions and views of the CReW girls and those that interact with the club.  This is our “personal” journal of good times with our friends (and families), and of course, all the humorous moments that are involved.

Years Paddling: Since 2003
Other than kayaking I…: teach, snowboard, run, cook, read and so much more…..

Thoughts on Paddling: my personal challenge.
Greatest Kayaking Moment: Paddling the Hiwassee with Emily (in tandem) in 2003
Worst Kayaking Moment: Getting worked in Phil’s on the Ottawa River
Kayaking Accomplishments: Hand rolled before Rob! First competition at 40! Placed second at the North American Championships (2008) because all the pros were away in Europe or unable to attend both events

Cheryl

Born: 1986
Years Paddling: Since 2007
Other than kayaking I…: Work to make money to paddle, snowboard, video games, and whatever else keeps me un-bored
Quote: as a comeback – “Your face is…” and whatever they said to insult me…example someone says I’m boring…well “Your FACE is boring!” baha!

Greatest Kayaking Moment: First time surfing at Champlain Bridge Ottawa
Worst Kayaking Moment: Following Rob and/or Zach….follow me off this cliff…follow me through this super sticky hole….follow me over this pour over…”I’ll give you beer if you do this”…all dumb…but fun! but dumb…
Kayaking Accomplishments: Rolling! …Leaving a piece of my kayak (and helmet) on every rock in Valleyfield. Placed first at the North American Championships (2008)…same reason as Sylvie….woohoo!

Born: 1998
Years Paddling: Since forever! On own since 2004
Other than kayaking I…: Do my homework, snowboard, skate, swim, watch movies and play

Thoughts on Paddling: It’s awesome
Greatest Kayaking Moment: First time handrolling
Worst Kayaking Moment: Getting trashed in butterfly hole on the Ottawa river. This was outdone a year later by getting stuck in Grumpy on the Ocoee river and actually swimming
Kayaking Accomplishments: Third in the North American Championships (2008) Junior Girls, hand rolls better than her dad.
