Columbia, SC on the Saluda River Home of the Saluda Boyz
Registration: 9:30-11:00 @ The top of Millrace
Racing Begins at High Noon…
Cost: $20 Dollars

Millrace Massacre

The first race of the day will be the Millrace Massacre which will commence at high noon. The length
requirement for the race is 8’6 and under, no exceptions. Must be a plastic boat. A set course will be
shown to the competitors the day of the race. The course will be water level dependant. It will start at the
top of Millrace and end in the vicinity of Fisherman’s Rock. The course will be outlined with markers

a mass start race with all the competitors starting in a line up. The race will start at the red pier and will
run through Millrace and down to the Zoo Bridge. Once to the Bridge racers will go around the bridge
and head back to the sandy beach where they are required to hike there boats back up the portage trail. At
the top the racers will reenter the water and run Millrace again. It is then that the racers will abandon ship
above the Mosh Pit and swim with their kayaks back to the sandy beach. In the Iceman you can paddle
whatever boat you may like whether it is a traditional whitewater kayak or if it is a sea kayak. The longer
the better.

Fourth Annual World Kayak 2015 Jordan Race!

natefry wrote 906 days ago:

In much the same style as the 2014 Jordan race, here comes the 2015 Jordan race! Come out to race the legendary rivers of Revy!

Race will be composed of teams of two running from rapid number three down to the bridge. Times will be taken, and the fastest boaters will win prizes.

Safety will be provided by your team member. Any help you get outside that from other racers, organizers, bystanders or lost tourists should be considered a bonus so make sure you would be comfortable paddling the river alone with your friend on any other day, when glory is not on the line.

Gather at the powerline pull-out river right of the take-out. Registration (free) is from 1 – 2 pm, race starts at 3. Two minute intervals, One run. Be in your gear and ready to go when you’re meant to.

Awards will be held around 4:30.  World Kayak and Endless Adventure will be providing prizes for the event.

After party will take place after. BYOB.

DIRECTIONS TO THE RACE

Coming to revy from the west (Salmon Arm ect.) At the very set of lights on the highway take a left. Follow the road over a bridge and take your first left on to a gravel road. Follow that road to a bridge, thats the take out.
Coming from the east (Golden ect) continue on the ‪#‎1hwy‬ across the big bridge over the Columbia. Take a right at the lights after the big bridge. Follow the road across a bridge and take your first left on to a gravel road. Follow the gravel road to a bridge and your at the take out.
To the put in – Continue up the road to the first left switch back. Here the road forks. Park on the switch back and look for a flagged trail. The trail takes you to the top of the gravel pit. Go left to a road, go right along the road and look for the flagged trail on the left taking you to number 4. Drive further down the road to a washout to find the upper put-in (to run Rapids 1 – 3)

*An important note* please make yourself a ghost when skirting around the edge of the gravel pit. We don’t want to get in their way as the trailhead down to the river is on their property and a loss of the access would be misfortunate..thanks!
