APE’s Caring Christmas Project

james wrote 304 days ago:

The APE’s are joining together to spread some Christmas cheer this year by helping a local family in need.  The family recently (11/17/17) suffered the death of the father/husband.  He was the sole breadwinner for the surviving family.  The mother has been a stay at home mom taking care of their youngest boy who has a long term illness.  The mother has 4 children: 14 year old girl, 10 year old boy, 5 year old girl and 3 year old boy.  The mother will have no financial means to make Christmas happen for the family this year in trying to cover the family budget and funeral expenses for the husband/father.

We APE’s want to make sure this family experiences the joy of Christmas again!  We are hosting a fundraising campaign from (11/20/2017-12/08/2017) to purchase Christmas gifts for this family on our APE’s PayPal website:

Shoshone River Park Project

james wrote 989 days ago:

A group of local boaters have began to organize in Cody Wyoming. Their missions? To have access enhanced for all river users! The project would consist of enhancing around one mile of recreational area along the Shoshone River in Cody, WY. These enhancements would include: improved access for boaters and fisherman, improved parking and access to nearby hiking trails and climbing destinations, stabilization of existing banks, and the implementation of whitewater features at natural constriction areas. The group has began organizing meetings, making contacts, and proposing the project to possible stake holders. While the project is still in its infancy, members report they have received positive feedback from many groups. This is an exciting opportunity for Cody, and we look forward to learning more about the project!

Contribute to Secure Access to Watauga River at Guy Ford Road

james wrote 1037 days ago:

Watauga River Access at Guy Ford Road Issue:

The parking area to access the Watauga River at Guy Ford Road is privately owned. This means we could lose access at any time. We have been working to purchase the 2.3 acre property on the downstream river left side of Guy Ford for about 2 years. This is about to come to fruition, securing a permanent public access to the river.

This site provides a put-in to the Watauga Gorge section of the river below Guy Ford Road, as well as a take-out point for Section 3.  In addition, this property will provide river access for fishing, swimming, picnicking, and other activities for residents and visitors alike.

A bit about the process
