Final Reno HTTD of 2018

For the final HTTD of 2018 we headed up to the rapids at Floriston on the Truckee River.  Of course, it was dumping rain up until time to start, then it cleared out and was beautiful.  The rain kept all but the most persistent boaters at home, but we still had a fun race course set up and then Ninkasi beer and prizes from our sponsors:   Mountain Khakis, Astral, IR, Jackson Kayak, Kokatat, Rapid Transit and Accent.

See you all on the river and thanks for a great 2018 Home Town Throwdown Season.

Noah, Colin and Toby

Reno HTTD #4

Bad Weather Wed made it’s return this week with cool winds, clouds, and some rain drops.  Even so we had a great time surfing the competition wave at the Reno Whitewater Park.  Flows have finally come down to the normal peak flow range of around 3-4,000 cfs instead of 6,000 cfs it has been for several months.  This made for a great, friendly wave hole for blunts, cartwheels, clean spins, loops, and mcnasties.  Kayaking was followed by Ninkasi beverages and prizes from our sponsors including Accent Paddles, IR, Astral, Kokatat, Effort and Mountain Khakis.

In two weeks we will be having our final HTTD of the year in Reno and we have a Large IR Drytop as part of the Raffle, so plan on coming out for that.  Information on location will follow.

See you soon…

Update The 8 Ball Race was a success! We had racers from 14 to 60 years of age going head to head with the rapids and the 8ball blockers. The Winner out of 3 heats was Jacob McClure taking 1st place in #2 and #3 heats. After the race. We had a free raffle for everyone. Then some went up stream to the 18ft waterfalls for some hucking. The others, paddled the class3 rapids downstream to the beach. This made a wonderful day of boating! Huge thanks to our sponsors, volunteers and paddlers!
