Hometown Throwdown event calendar for 2016

bozemankayaker wrote 774 days ago:

Last year we had a lot of participants at our HTTD’s.  This year we are looking forward in sharing the boating experience with our community again.

World Kayak has acquired lots of swag for our free raffles at all of our events.  Come join us and bring a friend to the first Hometown Throwdown after Muddy Rivers, “The Rock Island Open.”  We’ll be gathering at the Great Falls in Rock Island from 10 am-2 pm April 30th.

We also have the “The Artisan Open” at The Boils in Gainesboro, TN July 9th.  Don’t forget to mark your calendars for  ”The Lilly League Open” October 1st at Clear Creek.  As always these are free events.  Don’t forget to bring a friend it‘s always great seeing new faces learning to kayak.

APE's LogoMark Your Calendars for the 4th of July Weekend (July 3-5, 2015)

Come camp and paddle with us on Friday & Saturday night and stay down on the cool banks of the Watauga River!

Normally the lake is backed up to this campground with flat still water. But with the lake down it flows fast and cold just like the upper part of the river right by this campground.

2014 Lower Big Sandy Race!

bozemankayaker wrote 1553 days ago:

Eli Loben and Jeff Blood neck and neck at the finish line of the 2013 big sandy race

The 2014 World Kayak Lower Big Sandy Race is ON! Mark your calendars and get ready for some fast and frosty paddling on Saturday, Feb. 15. Race starts at high noon.

This year we will try and feature options for multiple classes:

Beginner: Put in to above falls entrance
Intermediate: Put in to below wonder
Advanced (2 stages): Intermediate course + below splat to below 1st island.

As always, we will need volunteers to help with registration, timing, and safety. Should river levels not cooperate for the 2/15 date, the race will be held on the next weekend day with appropriate water.
