The Mighty Mekong River in China!

Wow, an epic trip on the Mekong in Yunnan Province if Southwestern China. The Mekong is one of the main seven rivers the drains from the Tibetan Plateau, winding through China and then Southeast Asia on it’s way to the ocean. We ran a high section that was probably about 50 miles long. Thanks to Tyson Rowley and Claire Dibble for some excellent photos and to Levin Brown of Great Mountain Rafting Company for excellent logistics. Levin, Jed Weingarten, Tashi, and Will provided good raft support while we played down the river. Enjoy!

Wow! What an awesome way to deliver your trip reports! I’m living and hunting for some kayaking action in Eastern China. I look forward to more stories from out West! Have fun on the Nu!
