Semana Santa

March 24th, 2008 by Aaron

Well the week before Easter is one of the most traveled weeks in Mexico. We have had nonstop river trips for the last ten days.

it was a great holiday and we are glad for some days of rest. We still have good water levels and some good boating to be done.

A couple more weeks and everything will be calm until the summer. Soon it will be time to go to Colorado and check out the snow melt.

Till next time.

Just doing some good old fashioned kayaking.

You would never believe how many rivers are here in Mexico. Some are in the strangest of places. We paddled a river this week that spends thousands of years underground before we see it. The water is actually body temperature and carves it’s way through a beautiful class 4-5 gorge.img_7168.jpg
It is hard to describe a place like this. Total desert all around with a tiny strip of oasis on either side of the river.

We will be back to this river many times,
